After an extremely EXTREMELY long trip from Columbus to Chicago then to London we've finally made it to MADRID! We have a beautiful room with the coolest shower and toilet ever (pics to come later!)
This week is holy week in Spain, La Semana Santa, and there are processions all throughout the country, including a huge procession in Madrid this Friday and Saturday.
There are muchas estatuas, parques, tiendas, restaurantes y more barros than I've ever seen in my life (even more amazing than Court Street you bobcats following me!) Everyone says to watch out when you go to Europe because you might fall in love - well I've found amor and it's with this pais bella.
Tomorrow we plan on visiting other plazas around the city and later tomorrow evening, enjoying the barros de tapas.
This Monday we head to Toledo to meet our families and see the medieval city we will be calling home for the next 3 months...wish us suerte!
